Legends Care (Powered by Tuition Time Hub) is a Kirklees-commissioned HAF provider, offering free holiday activities and a healthy meal to eligible children at our Oak House and Willow Lane sites. Delivered in partnership with Give A Little Back CIC and Schools Out.

Free HAF places are available on confirmed programme dates, subject to eligibility, availability and the conditions of that programme.

Our HAF holiday clubs are delivered in partnership with Give A Little Back CIC and Schools Out, working alongside Kirklees Council to bring funded holiday activities and healthy meals to children across Huddersfield.

The Programme

What the HAF
programme is

HAF stands for Holiday Activities and Food. It is funded by the Department for Education and coordinated by local councils, including Kirklees here in Huddersfield. It gives eligible school-age children access to enriching activities and a healthy meal, for free, during the Easter, summer and winter school holidays.

Who can attend for free

HAF is for school-age children from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. This is not the same as the universal free school meals that all infant-age children receive - a child must specifically be registered for benefits-related free school meals to qualify. Eligibility is set by the scheme and confirmed through Kirklees Council, not by Legends Care. Eligible children can attend our HAF clubs at no cost to the family.

What does HAF stand for?

HAF stands for Holiday Activities and Food. It is a government-funded programme that gives eligible children free holiday activities and a healthy meal during the school holidays.

Who is eligible for HAF?

HAF is for children from Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. Eligibility is set by the scheme and confirmed through Kirklees Council.

Is HAF the same as free school meals?

No. Universal free school meals for infant-age children are different from benefits-related free school meals. Only children registered for benefits-related free school meals are eligible for HAF.

Is it really free?

Yes. For children who are eligible and confirmed through the scheme, HAF places at our Oak House and Willow Lane sites are free, including activities and a healthy meal.

Which holidays does HAF cover?
